In an effort to offset some of the cost associated with traveling to Global Finals, we are asking for your help. Kiewit Blood Drive!
Thank you to the generous support of our KMS family at our recent Blood Drive.  We had 29 donors registered and collected 22 life-saving units of blood.  That means Kiewit hit their goal AND impacted a possible 66 lives!  Awesome!
The American Red Cross rewarded those students and staff that helped out at the blood drive by donating their time or recruited someone to come and donate.
Fuel Up to Play 60!
On Thursday, March 15, 8 Kiewit students had the opportunity to visit the University of Nebraska Lincoln as part of Kiewit's "Fuel Up to Play 60" campaign.  Students, along with Mrs. Geerts and Mrs. Phillips, heard speakers Dr. Tom Osborne and Alex Henery, kicker for the Philadelphia Eagles, discuss the importance of physical activity and nutrition in their lives.  Students did their own "Tunnel Walk", visited the Suh weight room and created a plan to bring more Wellness "plays" to Kiewit in 2012!
Volunteer Club holds Penny Drive!
Volunteer Club held a Penny Drive March 5-9th and collected $630.72.  Our donation went to CureSearch who uses 98% of their funds for pediatric cancer research.  We want to help them find a cure!
Thank you bus drivers!
Kiewit would like to express its gratitude to our bus drivers who work hard to get our students to school safely and on time!  These men and women have a large responsibility and we thank them for doing a great job!  A few of our bus drivers recently enjoyed a bus drivers appreciation "break"! You can see a few pictures by clicking on the picture to the left!
Artist Meg Saligman Visits Kiewit!
Recently, Philadelphia mural artist Meg Saligman did a workshop with a select group of 8th grade art students at Kiewit Middle School. Meg is known for the Fertile Ground mural in downtown Omaha by Century Link Center. The students created artwork designs to represent a safe place. The artwork will be used by Saligman to create a stained-glass facade at Project Harmony on 120th and Q St. It will be installed late summer. Click here to view a slide show!
